“…Over….Time…” è l’atteso singolo dei Wild Palms in uscita su Popular Recordings. Attualmente una delle band londinesi su cui si concentrano maggiori attese, I Wild Palms sono cresciuti nelle stessa zona di North London. Lou, James e Gaz incontrano Darren alla Brighton University, lì iniziano a provare e ad esibirsi live nel 2008. Il sound dei Wild Palms si concentra su elementi primordiali e viscerali a livello ritmico e compositivo, unendo a influenze ricorrenti dell’ultima ondata british (New Order, Talking Heads, Captain Beefheart) l’indie noise USA dei primi Sonic Youth e l’electro kraut tedesco di Can e Faust. I loro live sono stati definiti sulle pagine di Mojo “ipnotici e sublimi”, e non a caso sono stati scelti come band di supporto ufficiale per il nuovo tour dei Good Shoes.

Formed late 2000.
The Dirty Wolf and Devil D’Inferno met at photography art school.
First gig was made with a single bass drum and a broken banjo.
The Boogie Snake entered the band a little bit later, (though he was playing with the Dirty Wolf in Seasick , belgian noise/punk band, since teenage) and played bass and guitar.
They recorded their first demo in 2001.
Second demo “Boogie Bastards” in 2003.
The E.P. “Dynamite Boogie” in 2004.
Hellelujah, their first record was released in January 2007.
Since that release, the band has played in every corner of Europe
These many experiences have left their marks on the already strong personnality of our three stage animals.
Two years after, the diabolical trio is back with a new record: Captain Boogie!
This record is undoubtedly nastier and harder, but also more personal and accomplished than the previous one, and the band has kept its willingness to throw itself body and soul into music…More news about it soon!!!!

Damien* – Crippled Cute preorders + Confidants videoclip
L’antipasto del “Confidants EP” primo singolo da “Crippled Cute” dei pesaresi Damien* – disponibile in download gratuito con remix di Not an Exit e Death in Plains – ha sicuramente fatto pregustare un bel lauto banchetto atteso con l’uscita dell’album.
Siamo in attesa dell’arrivo della prima stampa di “Crippled Cute”, in una prima tiratura limitata di 300 copie in cartoon sleeve.
Il cd è già ordinabile via Paypal dallo shop Suiteside
(12 euro spedizione inclusa) e vi sarà spedito nel giro di pochissimi giorni.
E’ on line in esclusiva su Rock It, anche il video di Confidants.
Un clip particolare, la cui scelta registica e di montaggio (a cura di Alberto Baldolini) rispecchia le atmosfere altalenanti espresse nel disco e nel brano: fotografia calda e pastosa, forti chiaroscuri, con un montaggio a “due fasi”, la prima fluida e rilassante, la seconda repentina e fulminea.

The Banshee – new single release and more european shows
A new release is announced for The Banshee on Sept. 21st. The song Colder, from the album “Your Nice Habits”, will be released as digital single with the new rmx of People Around signed by the misteryious Blue Tongues.
One month after (Oct, 26th) the full-lenght will be in all the best UK stores distributed by Cargo.

Damien* – “Crippled Cute” is the new album
I Damien* hanno terminato le registrazioni del nuovo album, che uscirà a Ottobre per Suiteside/Audioglobe.
“Crippled Cute” il titolo, 11 le tracce, di Bruno Germano (Settlefish) la produzione artistica.
I missaggi verranno ultimati entro la metà di Luglio, sempre ai Vacuum Studio di Bologna (Disco Drive, Blake/e/e/e, My Awesome Mixtape, Egle Sommacal), la masterizzazione sarà realizzata a Chicago da Carl Saff.
Per i Damien* è indubbiamente il lavoro della maturità, l’energia del trio è ora incanalata in brani immediati ma non semplici, curati nelle voci e negli arrangiamenti, adatti alle radio come agli indie clubs.
L’uscita è prevista per inizio Ottobre. Il tour sarà seguito da Booking Alive e Suiteside.
Damien* just finished the recordings of the new album, out in October on Suiteside/Audioglobe. Titled “Crippled Cute”, the work features 11 songs, with Bruno Germano (Settlefish) in control of the artistic production. Mixing is scheduled in two weeks at Vacuum Studio in Bologna (Disco Drive, Blake/e/e/e, My Awesome Mixtape, Egle Sommacal), then “Crippled Cute” will be mastered in Chicago by Carl Saff. From rough mixes we can say this is the definitive album for Damien*, their energy is now focused, with great songwriting skills and a lot of care about voices, sounds and arrangements. The tour will start in October, in charge of Suiteside and Booking Alive.

a portarci a terra con un bel pugno nello stomaco è il fulminante set dei Gazebo Penguins, il power trio non fa altro che trasportare la potenza del loro cd sul palco, la mia gamba batte freneticamente, chitarrista e bassista sul palco si divertono, si buttano per terra saltano e io mi incazzo perchè non c’è nessuno che poga, anche se la musica non potrebbe essere più adatta a qualche bel salto, mi tocca rimanere appoggiato alle transenne visto che mettermi a saltare da solo davanti al pubblico statico non mi sembra una buona idea, e non identifico nessuno disposto a seguirmi, peccato, ma il set del power trio rimane comunque un highlight del festival.
